MISSION

Our mission is to serve the library through providing volunteers, materials and programs.

WHAT WE DO

Friends have supported Hood River libraries since 1977.

Through the years, the Friends have made large and small contributions to the library, but Friends really make an impact through volunteering.

We cover and process new books, shelve, and clean children’s books and DVDs. We organize adult programs, provide the spring Book Sale and co-sponsor the annual Hood River Reads event.

Friends have also funded computers, furniture, audio books and AV equipment, as well as staff training and programs for patrons the annual Hood River Reads event. Friends have also funded computers, furniture, audio books and AV equipment, as well as staff training and programs for patrons.

To raise funds and community support to ensure vibrant libraries in Hood River County.

WHAT WE DO

Since our formation in 2010, we have worked to help provide the margin of excellence that takes our libraries from good to great. We serve as a liaison between the community and library board to help identify needs and generate support.

We envision:

» A community of actively engaged library supporters » Libraries that are financially supported to provide excellent services and facilities for generations to come.
