– PROGRAM OVERVIEW –

Performing Arts are vital to the health of a community, and a community with an active collective of performers bring richness, entertainment, and vitality to its residents and visitors. The arts challenge, refresh, unite and inspire us and help connect us with one another.

The Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association proudly sponsors a wide variety of choral, instrumental, and theatrical ensembles and programs. Some of these groups have been bringing music to the Gorge for decades. Each performing group — Sinfonietta Orchestra, Voci Choir, Jazz Collective Big Band, Stages Theatre Company, and Hood River String Quartet — has a mission to bring outstanding experiences to local audiences, while helping its participants grow individually as performers.

The ensembles of CGOA and its artistic director Mark Steighner have invited an increasingly prestigious array of guest musicians to perform with the ensembles or as sponsored artists, including Storm Large, Vienna Boys Choir, Stephen Seifert, Mel Brown, and Blair Tindall. CGOA ensembles have given world premieres of dozens of new works.
