At Columbia Gorge Food Bank, we hold people experiencing hunger and food insecurity at the center of our actions and decisions. We envision a community where each person can participate, prosper and have access to food that is both nourishing and in keeping with their culture.

We commit to serve our communities in ways that value the people who live here and their lived experiences. We resolve to listen to and include these communities in our work, and to respond where bias and inequities appear.

Our food programs and public policy efforts aim to build a society where everyone can thrive – celebrating our differences and working together to overcome injustices that might divide us…because no one should be hungry.

Columbia Gorge Food Bank (CGFB) is a transitional program of Oregon Food Bank supporting hunger relief partners in the Wasco, Hood River and Sherman counties.

CGFB receives and aggregates donations from grocery stores, local orchards and farmers and food drives. As a member of the Oregon Network of Regional Food Banks CGFB receives USDA Commodities, donations from the food industry, produce and other sources.

CGFB currently serves 22 regional hunger relief partners providing services at 31 sites. During the last fiscal year 849,200 pounds were distributed to Partner agencies, a 15% increase over the previous year. Twenty four percent of those pounds were produce. Our partner agencies serve approximately 3300 people each month.

Efforts are underway to add school food pantries and supplemental meal sites throughout the region.
